When a person has incurred funeral expenses for an individual who died of COVID-19 after January 20, 2020 they may be eligible for assistance. Call the FEMA COVID Helpline: 844-684-6333 starting April 12, 2021

  • Information needed to apply:
    • Social Security Number for both the applicant and the deceased individual
    • Date of birth for both the applicant and the deceased individual
    • Current mailing address & phone number for the applicant
    • Income of household (program is not income dependent)
    • Location address where the death occurred (located on death certificate)
    • Funeral insurance policy (if applicable)
    • Information about other financial assistance received, such as donations for the funeral
    • Banking information for direct deposit
